Agile began as a grassroots engineering movement that took many software leaders by surprise. The Agile community was optimistic that management would see its benefits and adopt a more supportive leadership style. However, larger organizations held on to their traditional directing and controlling management styles, conflicting with Agile’s principle of self-motivated, trusted teams.

Agile progress has been hindered by old Waterfall release planning methods and schedule pressures. Management wasn’t shown how to create a positive environment necessary for motivating self-directed teams, resulting in lackluster Agile transitions. Organizations can boost predictability by forming Agile teams motivated to achieve their goals.

In this webinar, attendees will learn:

– How motivation principles in organizational behavior apply to engineering leaders
– Alternatives to pressure for achieving superior results
– Strategies to create a supportive environment essential for motivating self-directed teams
– How to implement Agile in the spirit it was initially intended

Engineering leaders will be provided with actionable methods and practices rooted in established organizational behavior principles. The session is presented by an experienced engineering leader for product development leaders.
